Buy in season-This is a good way to make sure you have the best and latest produce with you in the season. You may also want to try your hand at preserving produce. This is better for you in the long run as you will have a large supply of fresh and preserved produce laid in for the winter months.Try the local store for its dealer and then contact him directly for the best returns for your money.
Winter season-In the off-seson or winter sesonwhen produce is really hard to find then you can try for pereserved products rather than the wilted and tasteless stuff on the shelves.A good idea is to get a chest freezer for your requirements for winter;Get the goods cheap and then freeze them as and when you require. At local farmers markets go shopping with a friend and then buy in bulk to get discounts.Closing hour is particularly good for finding discounts as most farmers want to unload all the produce they have and you will get a much better bargain than usual. If you have the time you cna try volunteering at the market for a return on the produce. Inquire about seconds or sort outs which are cosmetically ugly products which are still good for consumption.
Choose your products-If you are finding going completely organic very expensive , then you have to think about getting a sorting list of the produce you need for your requirements. You can sort the products you need which contain the largest amount of pesticides and then buy these exclusively organic while compromising on the remaining.

Yes organic food is expensive. But the reason for having the expenses are pretty simple and straight forward.
- Conventional food uses pesticides , herbicides as well as fertilizers to make sure that almost a 100% yield of fruits and veggies can be obtained from farms. But with organic foods this isn’t really possible. Yields are lower than conventional farming methods with a percentage of 10 and 20% lower than normal agriculture. Some roots crops range much much lower as much as 40% lower.
- Organic farmers don’t use herbicide so they have to till mulch and then weed out farms by hand which is very labor intensive and tiring. Thus production costs are much more and thus the end cost can be higher.
- Agro-chemical agriculture was designed to get the largest amount of food from the earth with the least expense and effort. As a result the government decided to subsidize the farms through the taxpayer through the government, but unfortunately organic farming receives no subsidies at all.
But if yoaur eofferd th echoice of a taste mishspen pievceof tomaot overthe weird perfect cheerfully red tasteless conventiosnal tomato ;whcihs one would you opt for ?

Almost all conventional foods contains a large amount of chemicals like fertilizers, pesticides as well as herbicides which are a normal part of essential farming. But in the effort to get food chemical free preservatives have to be sacrificed and thus food appears to be more susceptible to degradation thus more expensive. But here are a few tip to be able to get the best and most reasonable organic items for yourself.
- Avoid your local supermarket to get the best for yourself and your organic needs. Do some research on your local organic needs and organizations and you will find a store or supermarket which is close to you and has only organic foods available.
- Shop at local farmer s market or any which are closer to you. These local markets have great tasting but misshapen fruits and vegetables at a disocunt. So just because it dirty and weird looking does not mean it tastes weird.
- Buy a share in a community supported agricultural program. This is a really great program by which you pay weekly expenses or operating costs of a farm and in return you are provided with the local produce when its in season. If it turns out to be expensive you can share your option with another family or person to get the best advantage.
- Join a food cooperative where members of the business are provided with groceries as well as other produce and products at discounted rates. Almost all of these products are organic and are provided at discounted rates.

Do we really need organic foods? If yes then want is the advantage of organic foods over natural foods?
Organic food has certifiable norms to be followed and basically they are;natural production of foods using no chemicals or even pesticides on the food.Animals prepared and reared the organic way have to chemical and hormone free and allowed to roam free with sufficient sunlight and space. Even the food fed to organic cattle has to be chemical free and organically produced.
What are the advantages of eating organic foods?
- Organic food is much more healthier and more tastier than conventional foods. The taste range is also better and the produce is fresher. Although the FDA has said that there are no scientific claims to prove the fact that organic foods are better than ordinary foods, the sheer fact of the food being produced without chemicals is more than enough to attract quite a popular following.
- Most consumers are also in two minds about the frequency of Genetically modified foods in the market. The effect of those foods on the human body is really undecided so it is a good idea to switch to chemical free food to be healthy.
- Another advantage is that organically grown food is richer for some reason in a whole variety of vitamins and minerals and a few of these are chromium, zinc, iron, boron, lithium and magnesium.
It may be a little expensive but its much more healthier for you in the long run to have organic vegetables.
